When did the Dilshad Garden to New Bus Adda metro open?
The Prime Minister inaugurated the section on 8 March 2019. Passenger service began the next day, Saturday 9 March 2019, and the video was published on 10 March 2019, one day after the first trains carried the public.
News reports at the opening, including Indian Infrastructure on 8 March 2019 and Swarajya on 10 March 2019, gave the length as 9.63 km. Pre-opening reports had used 9.4 km, and the video description rounds it to 9.6 km.
Which are the Ghaziabad metro Red Line stations?
The extension adds 8 stations beyond Dilshad Garden, in this order from Delhi to the Ghaziabad terminus. Swarajya reported on 10 March 2019 that these brought the Red Line to 29 stations in total.
- Shaheed Nagar
- Raj Bagh
- Major Mohit Sharma Rajendra Nagar
- Shyam Park
- Mohan Nagar
- Arthala
- Hindon River
- Shaheed Sthal, also signed New Bus Adda
What were the two station renames?
Rajendra Nagar became Major Mohit Sharma Rajendra Nagar, and the terminus was named Shaheed Sthal with New Bus Adda as its subtitle, both as reported in March 2019. The vlog still says New Bus Adda throughout.
The host reads the stations out from the New Bus Adda end, starting with New Bus Adda, then Hindon, Arthala, Mohan Nagar, Shyam Park and Raj Bagh, which matches the order above reversed.
How long does the ride take?
On camera the host boarded at New Bus Adda, took about 2 minutes to reach the second station, and arrived at Dilshad Garden after 13 minutes with every stop counted. He changed trains there for the return.
He also noted that the Hindon air base, where the new civil terminal had just opened, lies on the Ghaziabad side of the line. The 13 minutes is as filmed in March 2019 and is not a published timetable.
What did the route show in March 2019?
At the terminus the host pointed to a mall behind the station that he said stood unused. Around Shaheed Nagar he described a transport area with small warehouses and little retail, and behind it clusters of housing societies, some stalled for want of funding.
The Mohan Nagar station sits beside a large hospital and a temple on the Hindon road, which he said used to be the main hospital people came to in the area. The road continues toward Raj Nagar Extension, where the elevated road from Delhi runs next to a metro station, and he showed that stretch.
What did the host expect for property along the line?
His March 2019 view was that new launches would see little change, since few new projects were coming on this stretch apart from Raj Nagar Extension, which sits a little inside. He expected more movement in secondary sales, a rise of 10 to 20% and better resale values, and he advised owners to hold rather than sell, with the effect visible over the coming quarter.
He also expected retail and commercial values to rise along the road and said stalled housing projects could get their funding. These are forecasts from the video, not recorded prices, and this page does not state what rates did afterwards.
